School photos will be taken the week of Oct 6-8 at Homeschool Plus. Photos are $5 and include professional capture, editing, and publication in the yearbook. You have the option to purchase digitals or prints of photos that are taken. If you prefer to take your own child's photo, with the same background, you are welcome to do so briefly at a time when the studio set is not otherwise being used. Please find a photo sheet beside the family folders at the front counter, or via image below to save and print, or text/email to receive this photo sheet sent to you directly. Every child (and teacher) whose photo is taken needs a photo sheet filled out prior to having your photo taken. Sheets can be placed into Danelle Frisbie's purple teacher folder or sent to class with your child. If you prefer to take your own child's photo, send your picture to Danelle no later than Nov 1 with their name spelled as you'd like it to appear in the yearbook. If you are taking your own child's photo, you do *not* need a photo sheet. Please do not crop photos. Only photos with the same background will print in the yearbook. 

Your School Photo Time/Day:

• Students in Tuesday Preschool, Kindergarten, and Tuesday Kids' Quest, Economics, and STEAM+ Narnia will have photos taken briefly during their class on Tues, Oct 6.

• Students in Wednesday Preschool, Musical Theatre, Theatre Club, STEM+, Kids' Quest, Animal Habitats, and Biology will have school photos taken briefly during their class on Wed, Oct 7.

• CORE students K-8th who are not in any of the previously listed classes will have school photos taken between 12:00-1:00 on Thursday, Oct 8.

 

If your child is in multiple classes listed above, plan to have their photo taken on the first day listed, or text Mrs. Frisbie with your preferred day. If your child is not in any of these classes, please sign up for a time to have their photo taken during the available times below by texting or emailing Mrs. Frisbie.

Morning times are available for parents taking your own child's photo.

 

Your child can leave class briefly to have their photo taken, or sign up for a time outside class time. An adult will help students leave/return to class. School photos will take less than 5 minutes.

 

• Photos are taken at this time of day because over many years experience, taking thousands of school portraits, Danelle has found the best, natural smiles are captured when kids have gotten into their day with friends and are relaxed. This results in better keepsake photos. Danelle will help tidy hair and ensure no spills show. If you prefer a non-class time, you're welcome to choose a different day or time for a photo, or take a morning picture yourself.
 

The $5 school photo cost can be prepaid (Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, AppleCash, check/cash, etc.) to 319-504-1460, via QR on the photo sheet, or dropped in an envelope to Mrs. Frisbie's folder with your child's name on the envelope.

Students who submit their $5 photo fee, or a photo order in any amount, before having their picture taken, will receive a Sweet Frogs gift card that is good for one free pink size bowl of Sweet Frogs built any way you like (pictured below). Mrs. Frisbie has partnered with the Sweet Frogs location on General Booth in Virginia Beach for these student gift cards, but most other Sweet Frogs locations will honor the cards as well if you call to ask beforehand (including the Norfolk location closest to HSP). 

Parents and grandparents are able to order prints or digital photos (to print yourself and use online) on the same form as the photo information.

• Dark, solid color shirts look best for these portraits. Avoid "busy" prints, stripes, clashing colors, and images/graphics/words. Only waist up is visible in yearbook photos. If you wear flip flops and shorts, or have messy hands and feet - no one will know! If you prefer that your child has a full-length photo taken for a second pose, with a sibling, instrument, pet, etc., please let Danelle know and write this on their photo sheet. 
 

• Small items like a food spill, pimples, etc. will be edited out of your final photo before you receive digitals or before going to print. If you have any area of concern, please make note of this on your photo sheet or share with Danelle, as she is skilled at editing photos for special requests.

• If none of the time slots work for your child, or your family is out of the state or sick this week, message Danelle to set up a make-up photo time. Make-up times will be very limited due to the amount of work that goes into studio setup. Please make every effort to have your portrait taken during this week if you wish to have school photos this fall. 

• Digital photos are sent via email as high resolution files for you to print or use in any way you wish as soon as they are complete. Prints are delivered the week before Thanksgiving.
