STEM+ Adventures in Science, Cultures, & Languages is an exciting, hands-on, activity-rich class developed by Mrs. Frisbie that fuses an immersive introduction of common world languages with STEM activities based on the diverse cultures where these languages are spoken. We cover a wide variety of subjects, rich in science and languages, sprinkled with history, art, cultures, food, music, and creative building! This class is similar to Mrs. Frisbie's Adventures in Spanish & Cultures, and Adventures in Science, Art, History, Music, & Faith, but it does not duplicate the same topics or cultures.
Adventures is geared to ages 6-14. Responsible students ages 15+ may take this class as a peer assistant, or for credit in High School Leadership in Education. To earn HS credit, there will be grade-level appropriate assignments per semester. Please let Mrs. Frisbie know if your teenager is interested in this option.
Activities change each year. Examples of our class integrating languages and culture with STEM: When studying India (a nation with the most goats) and the Hindi language, we will be making our own handmade goat's milk soap to take home; when studying Chile and Argentina (tallest volcano) and the Spanish language, we will be building and erupting our own volcanoes; when studying Italy (second most grapes) and Italian, we will make our own from-scratch (tasty!) grape juice; when studying Japan (most earthquakes) and Japanese, we will try our hand at constructing 'earthquake proof' containers for our egg drop! We play instruments, sample authentic foods, celebrate holidays, and are immersed in the rich tapestry of language, culture, and STEM!
Parents are welcome to join the private "Mrs. Frisbie's Classes" group for updates and photos, or follow my teacher page at Facebook or IG. Regular class email updates will be sent.

Teacher Related Experience
Mrs. Frisbie holds a teaching degree, and has taught a wide variety of subjects, and with children of all ages (elementary through collegiate levels) since 1995. She loves this exciting STEM+ Adventures course in that it allows the intersection of many fields of study to come together at child-assessable levels, and gives children a chance to reach out and impact others' lives as well. Danelle's graduate focus in developmental health and clinical psychology, coupled with what God teaches us about the power of prayer, the need to forgive and love others, and the utmost importance of children to Him (Matt 18:1-7), are at the root of this exciting class. Mrs. Frisbie has also witnessed first hand true prayer-induced miracles throughout her life, including, but not limited to, the radical healing of her husband’s Stage 3c cancer (without the use of chemo or radiation). Danelle believes wholeheartedly in equipping children with the capacity to pray circles around their fears, anxieties, questions, hopes, and dreams in all areas of life and learning. It is for this reason that prayer and worship are intertwined in the mix of science, history, and art for Adventures students.
